  1. The Prime Minister recently inaugurated three airports under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS-UDAN) at Rewa (Madhya Pradesh), Ambikapur (Chhattisgarh), and Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh).

  2. NASA’s SpaceX Crew-8 mission is reportedly experiencing delays in its return to Earth. Severe weather in Florida’s splashdown zones has caused this delay, with Hurricanes Helene and Milton creating risks and inconveniences.

  3. After four years of discussions, India and China have reached an agreement on their borders. The focus is on disengagement along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, with the agreement aimed at strengthening patrolling powers in the Depsang Plains and Demchok regions.

  4. US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seized solar panel shipments from India valued at around $43 million in August 2024. This action aligns with the Uyghur Forced Labour Prevention Act (UFLPA), targeting imports associated with forced labor, particularly in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) in China. CBP’s main focus is on the raw material, polycrystalline silicon, used in solar photovoltaic (PV) modules.

  5. In September 2024, India launched "Mission Mausam," a program aimed at controlling specific weather phenomena and improving weather forecasting. Its focus is on regulating fog, rain, hail, and lightning strikes.

  6. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced plans to introduce legislation encouraging citizens to have more children. He emphasized that a household having fewer than two children leads to a significant decline in the youthful population, raising concerns in southern states about reduced parliamentary representation due to lower fertility rates.
    आंध्र प्रदेशचे मुख्यमंत्री एन. चंद्राबाबू नायडू यांनी नागरिकांना अधिक मुले जन्माला घालण्यासाठी प्रोत्साहन देणारा कायदा आणण्याची घोषणा केली आहे. त्यांनी असा दावा केला की प्रति कुटुंब दोनपेक्षा कमी मुलांमुळे तरुण लोकसंख्येमध्ये मोठी घट होते. कमी प्रजनन दरामुळे संसदीय प्रतिनिधित्व कमी होण्याबाबत दक्षिणेकडील राज्यांमध्ये चिंता व्यक्त करण्यात आली आहे.

  7. The Supreme Court has ruled that “socialist” and “secular” are essential to the Constitution’s Basic Structure, dismissing a plea to remove these terms from the Preamble.
    सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने “समाजवादी” आणि “धर्मनिरपेक्ष” हे घटक संविधानाच्या मूलभूत संरचनेसाठी अत्यावश्यक असल्याचा निर्णय दिला असून, हे घटक प्रस्तावनेतून काढून टाकण्याची याचिका फेटाळून लावली आहे.

  8. Six of the 12 sports in which India won medals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games will not be represented at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow. Badminton, cricket, hockey, squash, table tennis, and wrestling have been excluded, with India strongly opposing the exclusion of these events, which are among the nation’s top-performing sports.
